Protect Alaska Small Businesses and Jobs

Alaskans should determine the future of our small businesses – not Outside special interest groups.

Ballot Measure No. 1 will increase costs for ALL Alaskans, cause harm to our struggling small businesses, and hurt entry-level workers.

Alaskans are already struggling to keep up with soaring costs and we can’t afford California and Seattle’s failed policies. Protect our small businesses and your wallet by voting NO on Ballot Measure 1.

Ballot measure 1 was not written or funded by Alaskans. Instead, three billionaire-funded groups from Washington, D.C. and New York are fueling this anti-Alaskan campaign.

We cannot surrender Alaska’s small businesses and jobs to Ballot Measure No.1, which is nothing more than an out-of-touch attempt by Outsiders to dictate our jobs and economy. Alaskans can better decide what’s best for us.

What Small Businesses Have to Say

  • "This Ballot Measure will cost my business over $25,000 for just the first year of the minimum wage increase, and that doesn't factor in any paid sick leave."

Michael Cervantes - The Banks Alehouse

  • "The paid sick leave component of Ballot Measure 1 would add at least $16.5 million in estimated additional labor costs to the shoreside processing sector at a time when the Alaska seafood industry is already experiencing an economic crisis due to a significant number of global market factors combined with soaring operational costs."

    Pacific Seafood Processors Association

  • “If the measure passes, I’ll have to raise prices and cut part-time positions. I estimate the measure would cost up to $12,000 each month in operating costs.”

    James Strong - Sweet Caribou

  • "For the life of our business community, especially the small business community, allowing outside interest groups to decide what is best for Alaskan’s businesses will only result in the closure of our favorite restaurants, shops and generations of businesses here in Alaska. I highly encourage voters inform themselves on Ballot Measure 1 before voting."

Elizabeth Hall - John Hall’s Alaska Tours and Transportation
